Queen of the Night

Redbubble (homewares, accessories, apparel)
Spoonflower (fabric, wallpaper, giftwrap)

'Epiphyllum Oxypetalum', a species of cactus native to southern Mexico, flowers only once per year, and only at night. Its rare nocturnal blooms earn it the nickname 'Queen of the Night'.

In Japan, it is known as the 月下美人 (Gekka Bijin) or "Beauty under the Moon". In Sri Lanka it is called "Kadupul" (කඩුපුල්) which means "the flower from heaven".

Its flowers are very fragrant, large and white (as usual, I have taken creative license with the colour scheme in this collection!).
