Wedding Invitation Suite
Date: 2017
Every graphic designer's biggest dream and worst nightmare — designing their own wedding invitations. It was a once in a lifetime project, but I've never had a client as difficult to please as myself so I'm glad I won't have to do it again (all going to plan!).
As it was a special project I decided I could justify foil printing — something I've always wanted to try. This was executed beautifully by Pinc Ltd in a rose gold to match our wedding bands and decor theme.
I love maps, and being aware that many of our guests were travelling from overseas I wanted to provide them with a nice souvenir of their trip. Our wedding was held on the hillside beside the ocean on the south coast of Wellington, New Zealand — so a handpainted watercolour map was a nice memento of this beautiful location.
And of course no textile designer's wedding would be complete without some custom fabrics, so the watercolour fern leaves from the invitations were translated into a fabric print used on the bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen ties, and bridesmaid robes. Fabrics were printed in London by Fashion Formula UK.
